Pittsburgh Children's Foundation
The Pittsburgh Children’s Foundation was established on March 2002 with the intention to help those who can’t help themselves. The founders wanted to have an impact on the lives of children everywhere. Children were selected as the beneficiaries because of the long-term impact they will have in the future of society. The ripple effect of helping a child grow through education, mentoring and providing life's basic needs, affects their siblings, parents, friends and the community for years to come.
The first beneficiary was Food for the Hungry – because the children in the developing countries who are without the basic needs of food, water, shelter, vaccines, and etc. ThePittsburgh Children’s Foundation then decided it would grow to 10 organizations covering all aspects of crisis with children.
